Website scam

I purchased 2 pairs of shoes where the seller only accepts paypal. I was anxious about the transactions so I called paypal and was assured that it was a safe merchant to buy from. Now I am finding 46 complaints about e merchant sending out sponges instead of shoes. Paypal told me I have to wait at least 10 days to get my money back. This is the unsfafe website and he only accepts paypal.
