Took money from me and has held it for a week!

I paid for an item on a Friday. On Sunday I got an email saying my account had been limited and that my funds were frozen. I have had this account for 3 years and never experienced such a thing. When I called and asked why, the first person responded by saying ” we dont do wire transfers so its going to take 2 to 4 business days for your money to come thru and be put back into your account”. First of all isn’t paypal a giant company within the 21st century? If someones account is seemingly under some sort of fraud why can’t they freeze your account till they get confirmation that it actually is indeed the account holder using there account, then immediately un freeze it once confirmation has been made? seems like the most simple thing to do in the day and age we live in. But somehow paypal is still working with stones and pics to engrave the piece of rock which is your receipt and send it horse back to your front door. Nothing in our economy today takes 5 business days other than flat rate shipping. Now I’m stuck waiting to hopefully see my money within the next week just to hopefully make the payment I had due about 5 days ago. Not to mention I have had zero access to the money I sent as my bank has confirmed the sale to paypal and says it is no longer in my account WTF! SO BASICALLY I GAVE PAYPAL A LOAN?
