There is no such thing as SELLER Protection

PayPal has no seller protection, especially if you sell lower priced items in any quantity. PayPal rules state that

“The seller is responsible for every item, even during the delivery process”

I Live in the UK and sell hundreds of lower priced items per week and to do this sensibly, I give my buyers the option of three types of postage- 1st class mail, Recorded Delivery and Special Delivery. If a customer choses 1st class mail then he can quite easily accept the items and then file a dispute or claim through Paypal.

For this reason you must send out every item with a tracking number,
otherwise you are likely to lose your money even if you have proof of postage.

The Paypal seller protection scheme costs nothing (unless you pay out for extra postage charges yourself ). Working mine out on over 5000 packets a year, this seller protection would cost me an extra £12,500 in postage to send everything with a tracking number. The alternative – require the buyers to pay the extra and lose customers.

PayPal’s advertisements for this supposed seller protection is misleading and should be investigated. PayPal’s seller protection process is apparently to do nothing at all, even when you have a tracking number and can prove the buyer has received it they still pay out to the buyer.

PayPal and Ebay are a total monopoly.  They have reduced the ways of payment and now the only external way of payment is through Paypal.  Surely this is a monopoly and should be checked – more free choices should be allowed to be made regarding payments on Ebay.

Ebay has also removed the option of leaving negative or neutral feedback from buyers so you either leave a positive or don’t leave anything even though you may have been ripped off. A buyer may have just ripped you off for a Rolex watch, got his money back from Paypal and still have 100% feedback.

I have pointed out several ways of  ”beating the system” to both Paypal and Ebay but do they take any notice – just an imaginary list that they claim they have to stop fraudulent buyers.

Wake up Ebay and PayPal, your seller protection does not work.
