“As Is” does not exist when you accept Paypal
If you sell an item as broken, as is, all sales final, etc. and accept Paypal, expect to get the item returned up to 45 days after the transaction. All a buyer has to do is state that the item does not match the description, and Paypal will grant the refund from your sellers account. I stated several times in the auction listing the item was as is, all sales final, selected the seller does not accept returns box from eBay, and the buyer was STILL ABLE TO RETURN THE ITEM!!!
A PayPal rep told me-
“Once you agree to accept Paypal, your valid contract with the buyer becomes void”
I was also told that
“Paypal will almost always side with the buyer, as the buyer can also file a dispute with their credit card company used to make the purchase, and “that incurs Paypal fees, so we must side with the buyers.”
Very professional. Do yourself a favor and use Craigslist, or if you must use eBay with PayScam (oops, Paypal) find another means of accepting payment or be ready for RETURNS!!
