I too got stung by PayPal’s Intangible Items Ploicy that they have in place.
I purchased a product from this site:

http://egold-world.com/Adsense-Treasure/

After reading the long sales letter and almost deciding to pass up the $97.00 offer, I got the “wait before you go, how about $47.00 pitch”, I agreed to that then prior to supposedly downloading my product, I got, how you to like to upgrade to the platinum package where we will build your site for you for only $297.00.

I thought, why not, it then took me to this page:

http://egold-world.com/Adsense-Treasure/Plat-Level.html?merchant_return_link=Return+to+Asta+E+Services+Private+Limited

Here they ask for some of your personal details so they can put your site together, just click the support button to leave these details.  When one clicks that support button, guess it take you?

To goddady site: http://carsonrathi.com/support

With this written there:

“NOTICE: This domain name expired on 10/26/2010 and is pending renewal or deletion. “

So after noticing all this, i tried to immediately put a stop to any payments by both ringing paypal and also going through their resolution centre and go through a lenghthy wait with no comunication with the seller from India.

I then escalated my claim, and after another lenghthy wait and all this proof that they have a fraudster using their system to scam people, PayPal ruled in his favour and tried to use this intangible items policy on me.

I than rang them again and lost the plot at them and accused PayPal for condoning fraud, and ask them to answer me this 1 question:

“So you’re saying to me that I can go on to tell my friends (and also everyone else in the world) that if you want to commit fraud and get away with it by using PayPal because they will rule in your favour (as fraudsters), then intangible items is the way to go?”

He wouldn’t answer my question, but it’s obvious what the answer is. YES!

I am so frustrated that I not only got stung for almost $350.00, but some idiot in India has pulled this off on me and who knows to who else?

I would like to put a site together and use all the right keywords to rank high on Google so that I can tell the world about this Paypal Scam.  I even thought to ring our local current affairs and media, so that they can either change this policy or somehow resolve these problems.

Anyway, I’m glad to see there is already a site up to expose PayPal scamsters and fraudsters.
