problem transferring funds into bank acc

My problem is that I’m not able to link up my bank account so that I can transfer funds directly in to my bank account. I never had a problem in transferring my funds until earlier this year, even though I have held this account for over 10 years!!! Now I try to link my account back and I’m being asked to provide further information such as photo ID plus two amounts that have been credited to my bank account in the past…how the hell am I able to provide this when the account was set up so long ago!!
