Change of contact info equals limited PayPal Account
on July 14, 2009 at 11:25 PMI use the PayPal merchant virtual terminal (or at least i used to). I moved to a new address and got a new phone number. Customers could not get a hold of me at my local number (toll free still worked) so i had a couple charge backs from people who thought i went out of business. The next week, i had a $10,000 hold on funds. I called PayPal and they said they put the hold on because they could not reach me. When I asked what number they dialed they responded, “we tried to call your home number for 3 days and did not reach you”.
I am still shocked at the fact that 3 months later i still don’t have my money released. Common sense should tell you that this business type account, with business merchant services, with business merchant rates, that is claiming to run a business, might possibly have a business telephone number. I had all the correct numbers on the PayPal account for primary customer service, primary business, yet they called my home number!
As I said it has been 3 months and i have not seen a dime. I would strongly suggest to anyone to avoid PayPal. They have not been able to give me an answer besides, “90 more days”, their answer is always 90 more days. Will I ever get my money? Who knows? I have hired a lawyer and we will be presenting the case to PayPal to see if they want to settle. This is ridiculous.
