I wanted to make a payment to a travel agent. Problem was that I was in Europe and even after entering id, password, etc, PayPal decides that I am a risk. So, I spent 43 minutes over the phone (international call) from the hotel entering twice my credit card number, two times my home phone number, and repeating the same information to two people. I also provided a good approximation of the purchases last year (which they had no clue about, as proven when I asked) and tried to sell for their “secure” system and keep telling me that they knew who I was but… the computer had the last word.

Last year I had bought computers, at least one printer, and lots of equipment and they always got the approval from my credit card company. But… The agent and her supervisor kept apologizing for not fixing the problem, and they did not even flinch when told that from now on I will use PayPal only for transactions under $5.00.

If Meg is as shrew as her employees, California is doomed
