Paypal would not accept new debit card

It’s so simple it sounds stupid. I had an original account, lost my debit card, tried to change to my new card and they wouldn’t accept that information and I washed my phone in the washing machine and they went crazy because I had a new card and phone number. have been on phone for at least an hour because I tried to open with new name…. i know, dumb, right. So whats a gal to do. Nothing is ever easy with paypal.
