Paypal smart connect is a fraud,
I never signed up for this smart connect option. They claim i used it on a purchase and never did. I was able to figure out what I did buy and was willing to pay for this and then close my account. Never received a statement and was charged late fees and interest. My amound due was different everytime I called. After several calls in 1 week I spoke with supervisor Beth. What a waste of time! She told me to avoid interest and late fees “pay your bill on time” She didn’t listen to a word I said. I finally paid whatever to avoid my credit score, and I am sure that is one way the get you to pay. I will never do anything with GE again. Don’t use PayPal!

My father-in-law, 85 years old and does not even use a remote for his tv because it is too technical got a statement from Paypay smart connect. Someone used his name and SS number to open an account, charge 600. and then pay the 600. charge the next day. I called and went through all of this with Paypal telling them this was fraud, all they could keep saying was don’t worry about it because you don’t owe anything right now….WTF, are they kidding? What about next month and the next. I called our local fraud unit and turned it all over to them. Paypal has big issues with their customer service reps. I guarantee my father-in-law did NOT open this account. What I don’t understand is why someone would open this, charge on it and then make a payment in full the next day. Are they trying to launder money? That is my only guess.
