PayPal Sides With Seller Of Fake Cosmetics

So, I bought some cosmetics from an Internet cosmetic store. They clearly stated that they were selling authentic product on their website.  When I received the product, however, they were high-end fakes.

So I contacted the seller, who was very cocky and basically laughed at me. I figured this situation qualified for the “wrong item received” category, so I opened a PayPal dispute- just to have PayPal instantly close it in the sellers favor. When i called to find out why PayPal sided with the seller, the PayPal representative told me this would only apply if i had purchased the items from an ebay seller.

Thanks to PayPal and their rubbish buyer protection plan, I am stuck with $400 worth of fake makeup.
