Paypal shut me down for no reason
Hi
I’m telling you frustrating story now.
About a month ago, I started used iphone sales business on ebay with paypal payment.
It started well and there’s been no dispute with any buyers so far.
1 week ago paypal limited my account and asked me to provide some information like proof of id, proof of sales, proof of items I’m selling.
so I provided all the information paypal asked and paypal just permanently closed my account and said items I’m selling is too risky.
I called Paypal few times to appeal but they say they can’t say specific reason that they have to close my account and keep saying ’cause my items are too risky they have to close it down and there is nothing I can do about it.
However based on feedbacks from my customers on ebay there’s been no dispute at all and there are number of other sellers dealing with iphone on ebay using paypal.
Paypal didn’t give me any more explanation and just said I can’t use paypal payment indefinitely.
My ebay account was restricted indefinitely too. They told me I couldn’t sell anything on ebay any more, forever.
It seems a violence to me by giant global internet company and this is definitely catastrophic disaster to my new online business.
Paypal hold my money $4,000 and I can’t access it for 6 months.
Terrible experience. Spent lots of money to organize this online business.
I’ve contacted some government organization but they all gave me same answer, which was “We can’t force paypal to do business with you…we can’t help. Do some legal action.” What can I do?

welcome to the club of being shut down and not knowing why. They did the same thing to me and REFUSED to give me a valid reason as to why they shut me down. You can join a class action lawsuit within your area but I’m sure it will take years to get any kind of resolution
Same thing happened to me about a month ago. I have 100% positive feed back and never had a complaint. I went to log in one day only to find out I was limited and couldn’t access my account. I called PayPal numerous times but was refused an answer as to why my account was limited. Thankfully I only had about $40 in my account. I closed all accounts tied to them and moved on.
