PayPal Offers Zero Buyer Protection

I ordered a 4 Channel DVR Card and a security system with 4 Wired Color CCD Cameras (model number SV-6805+S-2004)  for $239.00 on 10/21/2010.

Nothing worked when I installed the system. So I called DinoDirect and was told that I would get an RMA in an email within 24 hrs. That was 7 days ago, and still no RMA. So I called to inquire about the email, and the representative told me that I would get it shorty.  Again, it never happened.

Now when I call, no matter what time or day I am sent directly to voice mail. I left 5 voive mails with my phone number and ask them to please contact me. Nobody has, and I am out $240.

So I filed a claim with PayPal, and here was their response:

“Our investigation into your claim is complete. As stated in our User Agreement, the claims process only applies to the shipment of goods. It does not apply to complaints about the attributes or quality of goods received. Therefore, we are unable to reverse this transaction or issue a refund.”

So if I understand this correctly, if the package is empty or the item does not work from day one, then it is PayPal’s feeling that as long as you recived a package in the mail thier oblagition is fulfilled… and you are on your own.

This makes them no better then the people that just stole my money.  As a matter of fact, PayPal gets a commission on the rip off.
