PayPal Makes Unauthorized Charges To Bank Account
on May 22, 2010 at 12:20 PMA few days ago I received an email from PayPal saying they had drafted an e-check from my bank account for an eBay charge. I had already payed eBay with a credit card. There was no need for PayPal to do this. After them proceeding to do this without my permission, I called them and told them I had already payed eBay with a credit card through PayPal; they didn’t have to take it out of my account, further more doing it without my permission. They did it anyway which caused an insufficient funds notice from my bank. I called the bank and spoke with the VP who told me that if I came in and payed to block PayPal from accessing my account for any amounts that they would refund the over draft charge since I had not authorized paypal to do this, and had proof that I payed it another way. I figured $5.00 fee was far better then PayPal repeatedly trying to get money for the same charge and getting Over Draft Charges every other day. I still haven’t told PayPal or eBay that I’ve done it, I hope they enjoy the surprise they get when they find out! I have since tried to delete both my eBay account as well as my PayPal account and Both places refuse to delete the accounts. eBay isn’t showing I owe anything, why they are acting like this is beyond me. They can freeze my accounts or do what they want with them, doesn’t bother me any. I won’t be using them anymore anyway.
