Credit Card Late Fee Caused By PayPal
PayPal suspended my main payment method (my bank account) and used the backup payment method without even telling me. They say it was for security reasons, but they will not tell me what security reason this was.
I was charged £12.00 in late fees for non payment to my credit card, because the direct debit setup from my bank account was closed by PayPal. I am not sure how PayPal was able to do this.
After speaking to PayPal they told me that they do not inform the customer of any security issue or the fact that they have changed the payment method.
In the UK we have a financial sevices act that requires all financial institutions to inform all customers of any security issue or changes to how monies are collected within an account. I will be contacting the Financial Services Commision and my MP to look into these practices.
