PayPal is not releasing my money
I sold a stereo system on e bay for local pick up only. This was my first time selling anything on e bay. The winning bidder picked the items up and I marked them as shipped. The buyer also left a very positive feedback comment about the transaction on e bay. The buyer used PayPal for the purchase. All the conditions of the sale have been met but PayPal still is not releasing my money for 21 days. I sent them a e mail to this effect and said if they needed to borrow the money we could come to some agreement on interest. I still have not heard back from them. This seems like it would not be legal. I believe it has to do with making interest on the money more than buyer protection. Pretty sleezey by Paypal holding my funds like that!

they have a 21 day hold on funds. Good luck getting money from them if you got a negative feedback – they might just keep it now.
This is the problem with local pick up and PayPal. And you got lucky that the buyer didn’t screw with you because if he would have opened a dispute he would have won since you don’t have a tracking number. Craigs list and cash is the way to go if you are not planning on shipping the item. That way no one is holding your funds
This is how they work now. 21 day hold minimum on your money. good luck trying to get it before then. Next time try using craiglist. at least then you will have your money on the spot
