PayPal froze my account and funds claiming I am eBay fraudster
This concerns PayPal Europe and eBay UK. Sold 12 items on eBay. Bought about 20 things on eBay. Never had 1 single problem. 100% feedback for both buying and selling. Had 3 items out for delivery (which, as always, I have to pay for myself since PayPal hold funds for every single sales transaction for at least 21 days). My friend sent me £95 she owed me and I transferred that from my eBay PayPal acount to my personal PayPal account since I wanted the money in my private bank, not the bank I use for eBay. Ten minutes after I hit the transfer button my PayPal account was frozen. Next day the eBay PayPal account was frozen, same day my eBay account was closed. In the private account they wanted personal information, bank statement copies, utility bill copies, passport copy, driving licence copy, all of which I supplied, to no avail, the message I got back told me “To reduce the risk of fraud we are closing your account permanently. you may not appeal this decision”. On the eBay PayPal account they wanted the same, plus proof of delivery for goods shipped for the £95 payment I received, plus proof of delivery for an old toy car I’d sold, along with the purchase invoice. I gave them everything, told them the£95 was a PERSONAL PAYMENT OWED, told them I had no purchase receipt for the toy car since it’s like 15 years old and been sat in my loft, and also told them the proof of delivery for the toy car is not available since the buyer is collecting it AND I had refunded his PayPal payment in full. My friend wrote and confirmed the £95 payment was money owed and no goods were supplied (that’s what the Personal Payment Owed service is provided for? no?),and the buyer wrote and confirmed the full refund and his plans to collect were HIS choice, not mine. Again, no joy, same message telling me my account is frozen for 180 days “to reduce fraud”. On top of this, eBay cancelled all my listings then wrote to all my buyers telling them to OPEN A CASE AGAINST ME since the transaction MAY BE FRAUDULENT. One of them did, and a short polite discussion soon put that right. However, this action by eBay is libel and I will take legal action against them for it. Back to PayPal, I understand I can take them to Court to get them to release my funds. I have written proof from every buyer that there are no problems with any of my sales. I also have copies of every communication between me and PayPal showing that they 1. Don’t read what I send them, and 2. Have a different answer to my complaint (excuse for holding my money) every time. Anyone else in the UK gone down the Court route?
