PayPal used false claims to limit my account
I put up a website for a software engineering and eCommerce class I teach. Within hours of putting it up Paypal sends me a message claiming I used it and Paypal to sell fake items.
The website works like a real website, except there are no payments connected to the site. So Paypal reversed my withdrawls and limited my account. Anyone looking thru my account can see that its only used for domain name registrations, buying software modules and website hosting. Nothing else!
Yet they make a false claim, which they know is not true, and then use their own false statements as “proof”. I am not complaining so much, as I also teach finance and I am one of the few that actually read the Paypal user agreement. Which basically says, “We can do anything we want with your money and there is nothing you can do about it”.
We started using AlertPay 6 years ago, and now we are getting a Paymate account to. Luckily I never let my Paypal balance go over 1000 USD.
Paypal was the greatest about 20 years ago- not anymore. Now it’s just too risky to use them. There are cheaper, faster, safer, and just plain better options.
