PayPal Encourages Fraud
On 11/09/2010, I won the ebay bid for a 5 quart CorningWare Dutch Oven. However, the seller sent me a 4 quart CorningWare Dutch Oven instead. The guy purposely defrauded me.
Now, PayPal is backing up his crime by saying they will refund my $14.99 if I ship back to him the Corning Ware, but it will cost me $16.00 to ship a $14.99 item, plus the original amount of shipping I had to pay to get the item in the first place.
PayPal is actually rewarding fraud by letting the seller off. He gets his item back at no cost to him, and now he gets to commit the same fraud with the same item again because PayPal refuses to do anything about it.
At the very least PayPal should reimburse you for the money you paid for the item plus the shipping, and not allow the seller to list the item again.
Do not use PayPal, their guarantee is worthless.
