Paypal enables fraud!
I rec’d an email from someone in Czech Republic asking if I would ship the cell phone I had listed on Ebay to him. I said I would once the money had been rec’d. The BUYER pre-determined the shipping cost and did not want insurance.
I have 100% positive feedback from Ebay and have used them now for ten years. I shipped the item and got an email from Ebay saying “Congrats, you are now an international seller”. I shipped the item and the shipping costs were more than this buyer quoted me. But I paid it anyway and even sent the buyer a nice email stating that it came out to more than what he had quoted to me, but to consider it a gift.
Weeks later I get a dispute notice from PayPal telling me that the buyer is stating he never rec’d the item. I provide them with the receipt, stamped and dated by the USPS as well as the stamped U.S. Customs Form with all of the buyer’s info, name, address, date shipped, etc. 15 days later they send me an email stating they have ruled in the buyers favor, and proceeded to withdraw $122.00 from my savings account!
I have no doubt in my mind that this buyer in a foreign country now has my item as well as my money, and PayPal helped this fraud to happen!
