PayPal cheats its customers and keeps their money.
For some reason, even though a person can use his credit card and PayPal can receive an Approval Authorization Code from the credit card company that the charge is approved, PayPal developed a new system that gives them the right to debit/charge your credit card account in order to confirm or verify it. It is a tactic to get your money and hold onto it.
They charged my American Express card $1.95 and then put a secret code that shows up on my American Express Statement when the charge goes through. I am required to enter that code at the PayPal website… and then, they do not credit the $1.95 back to my American Express card… they credit it to me in a PayPal online credit balance… requiring me to use PayPal to pay for something in order to recoup my $1.95.
They won’t credit back my American Express card. I have to spend more money through PayPal to ever get my $1.95 back.
I went around PayPal and called American Express. Amex is going to credit my account, and PayPal can sit there with a credit in my account till hell freezes over. I will never use PayPal (or their owner, eBay) again as long as I live. And I won’t let any of my friends use them… and if you are reading this, you shouldn’t use them either!
I only did this after two weeks of e-mails between PayPal and myself. PayPal is the worst company I have come across in a long time. Good luck with your PayPal problems. With the help of American Express, I solved mine, thank God!
