Paid with Paypal and my order vanished

On march 21 i ordered a radiator fan assembly from usautoparts.com and paid with my paypal account. the payment was subtracted from my bank account the next day however i had no order confirmation or any other communication with the website. i contacted their customer service and they said they had no record of my order. i called paypal and they told me that it would be unfair to the seller to cancel the payment and that was not an option. pay pal said that i should ask the seller for a refund.

since then I have talked with the accounting department at the website and they say they can’t possibly have any payment because they only have payment for orders.

apparently paypal has business relationships with some sites and they allow them to flat out steal your money.

paypal acknowledges that they gave those people my money and refuses to act on my behalf. so the question becomes what good is paypal? why bother? isn’t that why we use this service?
