Merchandise being used by customer, funds still being held
Ebay really needs to find a different funding institution besides Paypal, or I will no longer use their auction service. I sold a phone using Ebay, and it was succesfully delivered to the customer. At this point, my funds still haven’t been released.
I was orginally told that PayPal would hold the funds for 45 days, now I am being told that it will actually be 180 days. I was advised that this hold is to insure the customer does not do a charge back.
So the customer is pretty much using my merchandise, and I have no payment. What makes Paypal think they have the right to hold money from a seller after the buyer has received the merchandise and has no complaints?
How do they justify doing this? Especially with the economy being what it is, how do they know I didn’t sell what I had to pay a bill? They have no right to hold money as if they sold the merchandise.
I will never use Paypal again, and if I can’t sell something locally using Ebay and receive cash in hand at the time of purchase then I simply will not it sell at all.
