I don’t want to give Paypal my bank account number

My personal paypal account was “limited”. WTF?

I have two possible conclusions (from what I have researched online, since Paypal offered NO real explanation and won’t until I provide sensitive personal and financial info!):
1) I happened to be using an anonymous proxy while transferring funds??
2) The funds(just $100) were a DONATION for a private lingerie/toy party I assisted in, which was included in the ‘transaction comment’ from the person who donated??? **I just found out in an online search that Paypal spies on transaction comments! I had NO idea!!**
3)

Could it be the first, the second or both reasons?

When I logged in, I wasn’t permitted to access ANYTHING unless I entered my FULL BANK ACCOUNT NUMBER, WTF?? I am not comfortable entering my sensitive info online. Here is the login message I was so warmly greeted with:
We are currently performing regular maintenance of our security measures. Your account has been randomly selected for this maintenance, and you will now be taken through a series of identity verification pages.

Protecting the security of your PayPal account is our primary concern, and we apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Bank Account Information

Bank Account:
Full Bank Account Number: (I almost entered my info, but I didn’t notice any security asterisks or secured dots ***** like so, when entering the first four digits of my full bank account, so I panicked and backed out. Isn’t that possibly a phishing scam?? I want to call them, but I just wonder if they are either a phishing scam or simply Paypal trying to collect my personal info to ban me just for being involved in an adult-themed party and accepting a donation for it (I just found out through research that Paypal doesn’t like adult-themed stuff! WTF? Who cares, as long as it’s legal??)!!

I really have no idea what to do and I am freaked out!

How should I proceed, before contacting them or providing my personal info???

Am I overreacting?

Thanks,
Sirena

We need your help
———————————————————————-

Dear Sirena,

We need your help resolving an issue with your account. To give us time to
work together on this, we’ve temporarily limited what you can do with your
account until the issue is resolved.

We understand it may be frustrating not to have full access to your PayPal
account. We want to work with you to get your account back to normal as
quickly as possible.

What’s the problem?

We want to check with you to make sure that no one has logged in to your
account without your permission.

Please take a moment to change your password and create new security
questions. You should also take a look at your account information and
recent transactions. Make sure that your account information (address,
phone number, etc.) hasn’t changed and that you recognize all of your
recent transactions.

If you see a payment that you don’t recognize, let us know by going to the
Resolution Center. Click “Dispute a Transaction” to report an unauthorized
transaction.

Case ID Number: PP-001-636-205-xxx

How you can help

It’s usually pretty easy to take care of things like this. Most of the
time, we just need a little more information about your account or latest
transactions.

To help us with this and to find out what you can and can’t do with your
account until the issue is resolved, log in to your account and go to the
Resolution Center.

Sincerely,
PayPal

I use paypal alot, but that right there is just used to verified if you are who you are. It happen to me before when I use a proxy to access paypal, and I had to go through that, and that same day, my account limit was lifted (I had to make a phone call though to tell them to check it)
