How I lost $235 from paypal.
I recently sold a Samsung Epic phone on ebay for $235.00. This was my 1st ever sale. The $235 was deposited in my paypal account. 2 1/2 weeks later I went to use the money and it was gone.
I contacted Paypal and was told a dispute had been filed and I had not replied back so the money was returned to the buyer. Apparently, my primary email address was an old address and paypal does not send dispute information to the secondary account noted on one’s account.
The buyer refuses to return the cell phone which is under warranty and could be repaired if it is really not working. Paypal should correct it’s policy and require items to be returned before providing a refund. They should also use all availble means to contact someone when there is a dispute — like use the secondary email address.
