“Higher Than Average Risk”
I Received an email from Paypal stating that ”I am a higher than average risk”, and that Paypal will now apparently be holding all of my financial transactions for 21 days.
I called and spoke with a Paypal representative, and he informed me that this is happening because I do not provide Paypal with a tracking number when I sell and ship an item and this makes me a high risk for claims. This is very interesting, as I was not aware that I was supposed to provide Paypal with a tracking number and it has been well over a year that I sold and shipped anything.
I HAVE NEVER HAD A COMPLAINT OF ANY TYPE FROM EBAY OR PAYPAL. I have always had positive feedback with Ebay. I felt the Paypal Rep. was rude and just reading the papers, not actually caring about my account or my business.

WHAAT?
After having 100% FEEDBACK, Paypal ‘reviewed my account’ and placed a hold on my funds for 21 days until they review me again.
I called customer service and she said i showed I haven’t “SOLD much for May June July” so they feel I’m a risk…OUTRAGEOUS. In other words I haven’t made enough money for PayPal and they must review me again. This is an OUTRAGE. Who needs this CONSTANT stress and ‘review punishment’ with PAYPAL. Just leave us alone once we have proven we are good sellers.
Pay Pal is the biggest rip off of all. I am going to be a pain in their side. They are holding $1370 of my money for 6 months! I am filing a small claims court suit against them for $6000, the max in my state. (IN) They believe they are untouchable. I had 100% positive feedbacks, no refunds or complaints, and they said they didn’t like my business model. I put stuff for sale, sell it, and ship it. Just like everyone else. It was an arbitrary act on their part, and everytime that i have spoken to someone there, they lie.
When I left my money in PayPal or used it to buy other things on Ebay I wasn’t bothered. Now that I’ve had the audacity to send some of MY money to my bank account, I am apparently a high risk too. Total BS.
They want to make interest off the float. The Republicans need to stop blocking the consumer protection initiatives. PayPal is just as bad as anyone making juice loans or running a Ponzi scheme.
DITTO. I opened an email last night with the same 21 day hold BS. I double checked all my eBay feedback, and yep, it is still 100%. I tend to think this action has more to do with Paypal’s cashflow than any customer risk! Saying that . . . watch out. If they go under, you will never see your money.
Like others, I have had an account for years with occassional buys and sells. Paypals customer service response was vague; 1st told I had unmatching information on my account; 2nd person said it was a random computer selection but I should be sure to add tracking numbers to all sales, etc, and that I shouldn’t feel there is any problem.
When I went back and re-read the email, it was accusatory.
I personally resent the implications of their action and their email.
