Did not select to use PayPal and was charged $2.00

Complaint:
I was going to purchase a one year subscription to a magazine. The square popped up offering PayPal as a service choice. I was not able to close this box. I also was not selecting it. My transaction would not go through which I still do not understand. I contacted Mastercard and all was well on their end. PayPal charged two separate charges to my credit card of $1.00 each.
